Research Abstract

様々な条件下でアルコール触媒CVD法(ACCVD法)によってSWNTを合成し,光吸収やラマン分光測定によって反応前駆体や反応生成物の詳細な検討を行った.13C置換エタノールを用いて合成を行うことによって,垂直配向SWNT膜の根元成長を明らかにした.また,エタノールに少量のアセチレンを加えることで,大幅に合成速度を増加させることに成功した,エタノールの気相反応がある程度明らかになったところで,カイラリティ分布の狭いSWNTの合成を狙ってコンビナトリアル法と基板担持条件を検討した。
コンビナトリアル触媒作製法と,顕微ラマン分光自動マッピングを組み合わせ,多様な触媒条件に対しSWCNTの直径分布を迅速に評価する方法を開発した.実際に,15mm角の基板上にCo(0.03-3nm)とMo(0.02-3nm)の直交する膜厚分布を形成,SWCNTをACCVD法で成長後に,1mm間隔で200点以上をマッピング,3波長のRBMからSWCNT直径を0.9-3nmと変えられることを確認した.
1ゼオライトおよび層状シリケートの結晶性表面を,SWNT成長用触媒の担体として用い,触媒担持量と生成されたSWNT直径との問の関係を調べた.顕微蛍光分光により生成された個々のSWNTからの発光波長を観測し,本数に基づいた直径分布を測定した.適当な触媒担持条件においては生成された全ナノチューブの約7割が直径0.9nm以下の範囲に分布した.
電界クロマトグラフィーによるカイラリティ分離は凝集の問題により困難となったので,高分子によるカイラリティ分離に手法を変えた.20種類近くの多糖とSWNTを混合し,分散したSWNTの分光測定を行ったところ,多糖の分子構造に依存せず,同じカイラリティ分布を持つSWNT分散液が得られた,通常は,異なる分子構造の高分子は(制御されていない)異なるカイラリティのCNTを分散するので,この結果は予想外である.おそらく多糖は化学的にSWNTと相互作用しておらず,多糖の持つ剛直性に由来する弾性エネルギーだけでSWNTに吸着していると考えられる.
