Research Abstract

(1)小胞体内の異常タンパク質感知機構や動物組織における各センサーのUPR(Unfolded Protein Response:異常タンパク質応答)の解析、(2)発生・分化や各種組織の機能維持におけるUPR経路活性化の生理的役割の解明、(3)UPR時における小胞体やサイトゾルHsp40の生理機能、の3点に研究を集約して進める。具体的には、小胞体センサーIRE1は異常タンパク質の何を認識しているのか、IRE1の活性化機構、XBP1 mRNAのサイトゾルにおけるスプライシング機構、UPR からアポトシスに至る機構の解析、肝臓や膵臓におけるUPR の生理的意味や役割、Hsp40の動物個体における生理機能を明らかにすることを目的とする。
