Research Abstract

これまでに、主として特定領域計画研究「茎頂根端軸の形成・維持を支配する細胞間相互作用の解析」の支援のもとで、維管束の連続性の促進因子としてアラビノガラクタンタンパク質xylogen、管状要素分化の阻害因子として12個のアミノ酸からなるTDIFペプチド、また、維管束連続性に関わる細胞内のシグナル伝達として小胞輸送に関連するVAN3タンパク質、管状要素分化のマスター遺伝子としてVND転写因子群、維管束幹細胞から木部細胞への分化のトリガーとなるブラシノステロイドなどを単離同定してきた。興味深いことに、これらの因子の多くはメリステム形成あるいはメリステム機能と関連していた。本研究においては、これら因子の機能と相互の関係を分子レベルで明らかにすることにより、メリステムと関連した維管束系の形成機構の解明を目指す。
