Outline of Final Research Achievements |
The primary objective of this project was to acquire three-dimensional data on various archaeological and anthropological objects and to mathematically analyze the three-dimensional data and traditional two-dimensional data in order to elucidate the mechanisms behind the formation of civilisations from Out-of-Eurasia. Although the research results were mainly domestic data due to the problem of infectious diseases, we were able to obtain wide-range three-dimensional data on Ongagawa-style pottery of the Yayoi period and human skeletal remains from the Jomon to Kofun periods. An automated three-dimensional measurement method was developed accordingly. Furthermore, based on the results of the analysis of the three-dimensional data, the process of human population diffusion and the process of cultural transmission of Ongagawa style pottery were discussed and published as a paper as a preliminary research for further considerations.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
