Outline of Annual Research Achievements

濱口は、暗黒物質が中性子星内部で対消滅して中性子星を加熱する効果を検出する可能性について、非平衡ベータ過程の効果を取り入れて中性子星表面温度の時間発展を計算し,時間が十分経過した後に暗黒物質消滅による中性子星加熱効果が優勢となり得ることを定量的に示した。
松本は、直接探査が比較的難しい熱的暗黒物質(Light dark matter & Z-portal dark matter)の研究を行い、Light dark matterの探査では小さなリコイルエネルギー(~1keV)を検出可能な実験が、Z-portal matterの探査では、スピンに依存する相互作用に感度を持つ実験が必要であることを明らかにした。
長峯は、冷たい暗黒物質(CDM)に基づいた宇宙論的流体シミュレーションを用いて、初代銀河の形成過程、超新星フィードバックモデルの構築、巨大ブラックホール種の形成、ダストの成長・破壊モデル、ダークマターと中性水素分布などの諸問題について研究を進めた。また、ドイツの大学院生との共同研究で、interacting dark matterモデルについて文献調査を行い、GADGET-3へのモデル実装の準備を進めた。
10^9 gより小さな原始ブラックホールはBBN前に蒸発するために何の痕跡も残さず、その存在を確認するのは難しい。柳田は、川崎達との共同研究において、小さな原始ブラックホールが生成された時に発生される重力波が将来の観測器で観測できることを示した。
Melia uncovered novel features in the way light Dark Matter ― with mass less than an MeV ― interacts with proposed detector materials (e.g. crystals or molecules) including calculations of multi-phonon excitations in crystal detectors. He also developed an idea to use chemical crystals to detect dark matter, with a preprint appearing that demonstrated a proposed ‘magnetic avalanche’ Dark Matter detection mechanism.

Reason

論文リストや学会発表リストにあるように、代表者・分担者ともに順調に研究業績をあげている。
2019年8月31日に研究分担者のMenendez Javier氏が国外の研究所へ異動となり、応募資格を喪失した。このため彼が担当する予定であった原子核行列要素計算の研究については当初の予定を変更し、本計画研究内では直接研究を行わず、代わりに領域内の公募研究の研究者などと共同で開催する研究会・チュートリアル講演・スクールなどを通して領域研究への貢献をはかることとした。この事に関して、本研究課題の研究計画の進捗、目的達成について大きな支障はない。
また2020年3月に国際研究会 "New Directions in Cosmology" を予定していたが、コロナ感染拡大を受けて直前に研究会をキャンセルした。経費を一部繰越し、来年度以降に国際研究会は延期することとした。

Strategy for Future Research Activity

今後も、本計画研究の目的である
(1)宇宙の物質反物質非対称性の起源およびニュートリノ質量生成機構の解明、
(2)暗黒物質の正体・起源の解明、
(3) (1), (2) を含む新たな素粒子模型・宇宙シナリオの構築、 のため、代表者・分担者・博士研究員によって、インフレーションから物質反物質非対称性の生成、暗黒物質生成、宇宙の構造形成までの研究を進めていく。
