Outline of Annual Research Achievements

強相関電子系において普遍的に観測される、ナノからメゾスケールの自己組織化を伴う量子液晶状態に対して、下記の多角的な研究実績を上げることが出来た。
〇幾何学的フラストレーションが存在する強相関金属である「カゴメ金属」における多重量子相転移について理論研究を遂行した。特にダビデ星型電荷秩序の発現機構や、電荷揺らぎを媒介とする異方的s波超伝導の発現機構を明らかにして、鍵となる実験事実を説明した。また、銅酸化物高温超伝導体におけるネマティシティと高温超伝導の関係に関して,変分モンテカルロ法を用いてその多様な相図の包括的な理解に努め,物質依存性を説明するためには4軌道d-p模型に基づいた解析が必要であることを明らかにした。
〇厳密対角化や密度行列繰り込み群法による大規模数値計算を行い、ポンプ光を照射した二次元モット絶縁体の磁気励起にこれまで見出されていなかった異方的な低エネルギー励起が現れることを発見した。
〇磁気ヘッジホッグを伴うトポロジカル磁気構造の発現機構を明らかにし、それらの間のトポロジカル転移が熱力学的な物理量では観測が難しい隠れた相転移であることを見出した。また、「光渦ビームによる超伝導体ヒッグスモード強励起」および「スピンゼーベック効果(SSE)」について理論的に明らかにして、領域内の実験家との共同研究を遂行した。
〇高効率な第一原理磁気構造予測法の開発に取り組んだ。特に複数の磁気伝搬ベクトルの重ね合わせで実現している複雑な磁気構造を効率的に予測できるようになった。

Current Status of Research Progress

2: Research has progressed on the whole more than it was originally planned.

Reason

以下にあげた理由により、現在までの進捗状況は大変順調に進展していると考えている。
〇第一原理計算と高次多体効果を考慮した理論を構築し、カゴメ金属や銅酸化物高温超伝導体、有機物超伝導体における模型を解析することで、相図の物質依存性を概ね説明できた。また,これまであまり注目されてこなかった電子カイラリティの重要性を指摘することができた。
〇ポンプ光照射に伴う回転対称性の破れた新奇磁気励起ダイナミクスの研究が順調に進展している。また強相関効果で生じる電荷秩序状態とスピン流の関係を解明しつつあり、順調に進展している。
〇トポロジカル転移の実験的な観測方法の解明に努め、大変興味深い結果を得た。特にダイナミクスに誘起される創発電場の効果に着目した研究について重要な進展があった。加えて、スピン液晶、スピン液体、超伝導体における熱輸送・光駆動・強電場駆動の非平衡状態について幾つかの新規の予言を与えることができた。
〇与えられた磁気構造をスピン結晶群によって解析し、応答関数を分類することが可能になり、それに基づいた第一原理ハイスループット計算を行うことに成功した。

Strategy for Future Research Activity

以下にあげる具体的な研究計画に基づき、今後の研究の強力に推進する。
〇変分モンテカルロ法に基づく物理量の計算を進める。また,電子カイラリティ密度を第一原理計算に基づいて定量的に評価し,CISS効果(カイラリティ誘起スピン選択性)などカイラル物質特有の現象についてその究明および定量化を行う。また、超流動密度の計算など物理量の計算を進めている。また、高次多体効果であるバーテックス補正の研究を更に推進し、未解明の量子液晶秩序の起源を解明する。
〇強相関電子液晶状態へのポンプ光照射による異方的な磁気励起ダイナミクスの研究を推進する。特に、電荷秩序が現れるカゴメ金属における電流やスピン流の特徴について今後明らかにしていく。
〇スピン液体とスピン液晶の競合におけるさらなる新規量子相を開拓する。トポロジカル磁気構造のさらなる制御法を開拓する。
〇既存の第一原理計算コードは磁気空間群に基づいて対称性を考慮するが、スピン軌道相互作用がない極限でスピン結晶群に基づいた解析をするコードの開発とその第一原理物質探索への応用を進める。具体的には、Coをインタカレートした遷移金属ダイカルコゲナイドに対する計算が進めている。
