Research Abstract

生命の誕生は、分化した精子と卵子が接合し、全能性を持つ受精卵を生じることから始まる。そして、その際に遺伝子発現のリプログラミングが起こると考えられているが、そのメカニズムについては現在までのところほとんど知見が得られておらず、本研究の目的はこれを明らかにすることである。
この目的のため、本研究では、転写制御機構の変化に着目し研究を進める予定である。すなわち、転写の制御に重要な働きをしている転写因子およびエピジェネティック因子の変化を調べることで遺伝子発現リプログラミングの実態を明らかにしようという研究戦略である。エピジェネティック因子とてして、クロマチンを構成するヒストンのメチル化やアセチル化、さらにはヒストン変異体の置換などを解析のターゲットとする。
