Research Abstract

水は地球の重要な揮発性成分の1つであり,その存在はマグマ生成に多大な影響を及ぼす。本計画研究では,水とケイ酸塩や鉄の系を対象とし,水を含んだマグマの構造と物性を理解することを通じて地球内部の活動を理解することを主な目的とする。
特に本計画班の目的は,本研究領域で建設するJ-PARC高温高圧中性子散乱ビームラインを用いて、水(水素)やマグマを見るのに最も適したプローブである中性子を使って高圧下でのマグマの物性や構造,及びその水の影響を解明し,新しい高圧中性子マグマ学を築くことである。
