Research Abstract

基底状態においても電子相関が強く、一体近似が成立しない新規絶縁体材料において、光励起によって生成される電子正孔多体系のダイナミクスを研究する。特に、励起状態に固有の相関効果「動的相関」による秩序形成、即ち光誘起超伝導転移、絶縁体-金属転移など、電子状態の光誘起相転移のダイナミクスの解明に焦点を絞り、マグノン、超伝導ギャップなど秩序を直接反映する構造が存在するエネルギー領域、-テラヘルツ域を含む赤外全域-をカバーする独自の時間領域分光を行うことによって調べる。最適な物質として、定常光励起下でも相転移が生じる特異な銅及びチタン酸化物系を取り上げる。逆に、得られた「動的相関」に関する知見を新規光技術の創出、例えば、有効な制御素子が数少ないテラヘルツ波に対するデバイス開発につながる新原理の確立などに活かす。
