Research Abstract

基材表面に生体分子を固定し、目的の相互作用だけを的確に認識させることは必ずしも容易ではなく、様々な工夫がなされているのが現状である。申請者らは、異なる長さを有するPEG鎖によるブラシが極めて高いタンパク質非特異吸着抑制効果を示すことを示した。さらに、DNAや抗体とPEGブラシを共固定した表面が、非特異吸着を抑制するだけでなく、DNA や抗体の認識能自身を向上させることを見いだした。このように生体分子とPEG ブラシとを共固定する表面密生層の構築は、これまで達し得なかった生体分子自身の性能を100%引き出す可能性を有する。本研究では生体分子とPEGの表面密生層の設計・作製・評価を行うだけでなく、バイオ界面のナノエンジニアリング概念を創成してきた。
