Research Abstract

NMR分光法を中心とする構造生物学的手法を用いて、生体高分子の水溶液中における揺らぎを検出し、得られた知見をもとに、分子およびその複合体の動的3次元構造を原子レベルの分解能で探査する。とりわけ、糖タンパク質、多ドメインタンパク質、天然変性タンパク質などを対象とした揺らぎの解析を研究計画の中心におき、分子機能との連関を探求する。特に、内部運動の自由度が高く従来のアプローチでは構造解析が困難であった糖鎖や、複雑なタンパク質・複合糖質およびそれらの超分子複合体の動的3次元構造を、920MHz超高磁場NMR装置を縦横に活用することで解析し、様々な時間的・空間的スケールの分子構造の揺らぎと分子認識の相関を明らかにすることを目指す。
