Research Abstract

本研究計画は、典型的な「海底下の大河」(以下「大河」)における様々な段階・領域の物理・化学環境と微生物活動の相互作用を解き明かし、生物地球エネルギー・物質循環の全体像を紐解く鍵を与えると共に、熱水循環場の時空間的な拡がりや変遷過程の理解の中心的基礎を築くことである。本研究提案では特に、「大河」の現場環境(フィールド)における素過程を、高精度観察及び分析、反応・機能解析により解き明かし、「大河」を「物理・化学環境と微生物活動の相互作用の流れ」として理解することを目的とする。
