Research Abstract

本研究の目的は、多様な分子の自由度を利用して、分子間相互作用の制御を行い、外場応答により動的な新電子機能を示す分子性物質を開拓することである。特に本課題では分子間相互作用自由度開拓に重点を置いた分子性物質開発を行う。具体的には、以下である。
(1)ドナー分子に多様な立体配座を導入し、π電子系を拡大・縮小して、分子間の距離、二量化の程度を系統的に変化させ、結晶中の電子相関を制御し、反強磁性相、電荷秩序相、超伝導相、金属相、誘電相と複数の相が競合し、電場、磁場、温度、圧力、光などの外場応答により、超伝導、非線形伝導、巨大磁気抵抗、強誘電性、強磁性など、興味深い静的・動的機能性を発現する分子性物質を開拓する。
(2)多様な機能性を有する有機配位子を開発し、伝導性、誘電性、磁性を担う有機配位子サイトと、d、f電子により磁性を担う金属イオンサイトの相互作用を構造的に制御して、新しい多重機能性分子性金属錯体を開拓する。
(3)さらに、特徴的なことは物性理論家が加わり、この計画研究で開発した分子性物質における超伝導、電荷秩序、モット転移、熱電効果などの物性を理論的に調べ、そこで得られた知見を物質合成にフィードバックして、より興味深い物質開拓への道を切り開く。
