Research Abstract

生命現象の基盤となる遺伝子発現の正確性は、細胞の保持する様々な品質管理機構によって保証されている。mRNAの品質はリボソームにより感知され、異常な翻訳終結が引き金となって分解が促進される。研究代表者は、真核生物における品質管理機構の全体像を理解することを目的として、(1)翻訳異常の認識機構、(2)異常タンパク質分解機構、ついて研究を行った。また翻訳異常の認識後のmRNA分解系の理解にはPab1pによるmRNA安定化機構の解明が必須であるため、(3)ポリ(A)鎖結合因子によるmRNA安定化機構、についても研究を行った。
