Outline of Annual Research Achievements

太陽系も他の惑星系と同様,分子雲の収縮による原始星の形成から始まり,原始惑星系円盤の中で多様な惑星が誕生した.本研究では,太陽系をつくった分子雲や惑星系形成領域の化学環境が,観測される分子雲や原始惑星系の化学的多様性とどのように関連するのかを明らかにすることを目的とする.当該年度は「はやぶさ2」が持ち帰ったC型小惑星リュウグウからのリターンサンプルに関し,持ち帰られた粒子が小惑星を代表するものであることをまず明らかにした.その後,初期分析に参加し,リュウグウサンプルに含まれる有機物の化学組成,同位体組成,分子構造を決定した.リュウグウの有機物は,母天体での水質変成で鉱物と共進化を遂げたものが主であったが,分子雲の低温起源と考えられる重い水素や窒素の同位体に濃集した固体有機物も残存していることがわかった.固体有機物の平均化学組成は N/C 比が太陽系の N/C 比より小さく,水質変成でこの比が大きく変わらないことを考えると,この化学組成はリュウグウに取り込まれる前の特徴である可能性が高いことがわかった.また,二万種以上の有機分子の化学式の決定に成功し,アミノ酸など生命前駆分子が存在することも明らかにした.リュウグウの有機物から,太陽系最初期の有機物の化学状態にさかのぼるためには,リュウグウが過去から現在までに経験した熱史の解明が重要であり,リュウグウ中の鉱物(炭酸塩,粘土鉱物)の分解実験を開始した.炭酸塩の分解実験は完了し,軌道の不安定性により,かつて太陽に近づいた可能性が指摘されているリュウグウが,金星軌道より内側には入り込んでいないことが示された.これらの成果は2021年11月の国際会議 Hayabusa symposium で発表し,2022年3月に開催の月惑星科学会議(LPSC)では特別セッションを提案し,多数の学会発表をおこなった.

Reason

リュウグウサンプルの分析はメンバーを中心に国際共同研究で実施され,重要な成果を得ることができた.分析に注力したため,また,コロナ禍による物品調達の遅れなどもあり,有機物形成実験については当初予定より進んでいないが,新たに実施が必要となったリュウグウ熱史解明の実験は進んでおり,全体としては順調に進展している.

Strategy for Future Research Activity

リュウグウサンプルの分析は順調に進み,本研究計画のチームが主導しておこなう初期分析は完了した.引き続き,国際公募分析の枠組みで分析を継続する.一部の分析は表面実験班と協力して,実施する.リュウグウ有機物の全容が見えてきたため,リュウグウに取り込まれる前の有機物進化を解明する実験を開始する.
