Outline of Annual Research Achievements

太陽系も他の惑星系と同様,分子雲の収縮による原始星の形成から始まり,原始惑星系円盤の中で多様な惑星が誕生した.本研究では,太陽系をつくった分子雲や惑星系形成領域の化学環境が,観測される分子雲や原始惑星系の化学的多様性とどのように関連するのかを明らかにすることを目的とする.当該年度は「はやぶさ2」が持ち帰ったC型小惑星リュウグウからのリターンサンプル分析を継続した.炭素質の先太陽系粒子や硫化鉄中に有機物を含む炭酸水包有物(リュウグウに存在していた液体の水)を発見し,リュウグウサンプルの揮発性元素含有量が隕石と比較して,最大レベルであること,異なる同位体組成をもつ窒素含有相が存在すること,サンプルコンテナに太陽風が封入されていたこと(世界初の気体のサンプルリターン),リュウグウとCIコンドライトは他の隕石とは異なる同位体的特徴をもつことなどを明らかにした.これらの発見から,リュウグウ母天体が,太陽から離れた遠方の原始惑星系円盤低温領域で形成された可能性を示した.2022年7月の国際会議 Goldschmidt Conference で特別セッション Ryugu, carbonaceous asteroids, comets, and related small bodies: Their origin and evolution in the Solar System を企画し,これらの成果を報告した.また,Science誌をはじめ,国際誌に論文発表をおこなった.

リュウグウサンプルの分析はメンバーを中心に国際共同研究で実施され,重要な成果を得ることができた.論文での成果発表は当初の期待より時間がかかった.
