Research Abstract

亜臨界から超臨界中でのナノ界面でのプラズマを利用したプラズマプロセシング技術を創出することを目的とする。超臨界領域のみならず、密度ゆらぎによる局所的密度差界面、超臨界流体/液体界面等でのプラズマを利用した材料プロセシングおよび物質変換手法の構築を目指した。また、パルスレーザー照射により生成するプラズマを利用したナノ材料調製における超臨界流体の役割を検討した。
(1) 放電プラズマ
特に常圧から超臨界領域の圧力でのガス・超臨界流体と液体界面での放電プラズマを利用した物質変換プロセスについて、研究を行った。メチルオレンジ等の色素の反応、アラニン等のアミノ酸の反応について反応機構を解明することを目的に詳細に検討した。生成物の分析の他に、プラズマの発光強度の測定を北海道大学(佐々木教授)と共同で実施し、化学反応へのプラズマの関与を考察した。色素の反応については電極材料と流体圧力の影響を受けること、結晶状固体が生成することが明らかになった。アミノ酸についてはアルカリ条件下でオリゴマー化が進行し、分解反応とオリゴマー化反応の関係、反応機構が明らかになってきた。また、無機物である酢酸アンモニウムからアミノ酸であるグリシンが生成した。
(2) レーザーアブレーション
金などの材料への超臨界流体中でのアブレーションにより生成するナノ粒子やクレーターの流体圧力依存性が極めて大きく、臨界点近傍で顕著な違いがみられることがわかった。その機構を解明するために北海道大学(佐々木教授)と共同でレーザーによるプラズマ発光強度の測定を行い、その圧力依存性を明らかにした。
