融合マテリアル形成および機能発現のための制御分子の設計と合成

Research Abstract

本研究は、バイオミネラルの形成プロセスにみられる「分子制御」による融合マテリアル創製のための基礎技術の確立および高機能性の付与を目指している。平成22年度は、研究代表者らのもつ専門的な技術を活かした、結晶成長を制御するための有機高分子の開発と、融合材料を機能化するための液晶材料について研究を進めた。
結晶成長の基板となる高分子マトリクスの検討を進め、光架橋反応性マトリクスを用いた結晶成長制御についても研究した。マトリクスの架橋度を光照射によって制御することにより、これまでにない階層的な自己組織化構造を有する複合薄膜が得られた。また、人体の骨や歯を形成するヒドロキシアパタイトの結晶成長について研究し、アパタイトと生分解性高分子がナノメートルレベルで複合化した薄膜の作製に成功した。さらに層状無機化合物の層間に、イオン液体を導入した複合化材料の構築にも成功した。これらの成果は結晶成長を分子制御し、自己組織化によって機能を生み出す階層的な融合構造を作製する研究目的の上で重要であり、研究計画を進める重要なステップである。
また、融合マテリアルに高機能性を付与する分子として、発光性や電気伝導性、イオン伝導性を示す液晶材料を開発した。力学的刺激に応じて三色に発光する液晶は、力学的刺激や加熱によって応じて発光部位の集合状態が変化し、発光波長が変化する。これらを融合することにより、高機能性が付与されることが期待される。
