Grant-in-Aid for Scientific Research on Innovative Areas (Research in a proposed research area)
In this study, we study three topics using the mathematical models and computer simulations. (1) We explored a mechanism to respond to a complex temperature change in natural environments, and have developed a flowering time prediction model based on genetic information. (2) To provide a new mathematical techniques to breeding research, we have developed a phloem transport model capturing sucrose transportation and grain filling in complex rice panicle structures. (3) We have developed a mathematical model to understand the starch management strategy under a variety of light-dark cycle.
