Outline of Annual Research Achievements

プリンストン大学との共同研究として進めている高コントラスト赤外線面分光器（CHARIS）の開発については、拡大光学系、マイクロレンズアレイ等の光学素子の実機への組み込みおよび調整が進んだ。また昨年度検討した、新たなガラス材を使用した分散素子については、冷却試験によって実測した光学定数を用いた設計が完了した。検出器読み出し系は、常温でのマルチプレクサの読み出しに成功した。ハワイ観測所においては、CHARISの前置光学系となる超高次波面補償光学装置（SCExAO）の改良およびすばる望遠鏡を使っての実機試験観測を行った結果、設計通り1200モードの波面誤差を3.5 kHzの速さで補正できる目途がたった。
観測研究においては、すばる望遠鏡を使用した系外惑星撮像プログラム（SEEDS）が終了し、これまでの成果のまとめを開始した。木星型系外惑星の撮像による直接検出においては、これまで6個しか発見されていないもののうち、すばる望遠鏡によるSEEDSプロジェクトで3個を検出したこととなる。そのうちの1個については、質量が木星の4倍程度であり、これまで直接撮像されたもののうち最小の系外惑星である。さらに、10個以上に及ぶ若い星の周囲の原始惑星系円盤や残骸円盤を直接撮像し、渦巻きやリングなど、円盤の詳細構造を明らかにした。
ニュージーランドに設置した望遠鏡を用いた重力マイクロレンズ法による観測（MOAプロジェクト）では、昨年度に引き続いて観測を実施し、惑星イベントの検出を進めている。

Current Status of Research Progress

3: Progress in research has been slightly delayed.

Reason

CHARISの開発については、分散素子に使用するガラス材を変更したのに伴い、その低温光学特性の測定を慎重に行った影響で、分散素子の製作が2か月ほど遅れることとなった。観測波長域を決めるフィルターセットの仕様も分散素子の設計が完了しないと決まらないため、同様に製作が遅れることとなった。またリレー光学系を実機に組み込む作業中に、反射鏡の表面に軽微な損傷を与えてしまったため、その影響の調査と修理方法の検討に時間を要している。
その他の項目（SCExAOの開発・試験観測、SEEDS、重力マイクロレンズ観測）に関しては順調に推移している。

Strategy for Future Research Activity

CHARISの開発では、各コンポーネントの実機への組み込み調整および制御ソフトウエアの製作をプリンストン大学にて完了し、その後すばる望遠鏡輸送してSCExAOと接続し、試験観測を行う。SCExAOについては、すばる望遠鏡に搭載して試験観測を継続し、さらなる性能向上を進める。平成27年度には、最終年度として以上の成果をまとめを行う。
SEEDS及び重力マイクロレンズ観測の成果についても、平成27年度には成果の出版を進め、最終年度としてのまとめを行う。
