Outline of Final Research Achievements |
Our research objectives in this project mainly focus on the development of novel molecular transformations for environmentally benign and asymmetric reactions aiming at fine chemicals and related compounds using hypervalent iodine reagents. As one of the major achievements, a series of new metal-free oxidative coupling strategies for effecting C-H functionalizations as well as direct cross-couplings between two C-H bonds of different aromatics has been established. We have also succeeded in realization of highly efficient iodine catalyzed asymmetric reactions by designing new chiral iodine catalysts as asymmetric organocatalysts.
