Outline of Final Research Achievements

1. Among the radioactive substances deposited in the land area, the dissolved 137Cs concentration in the forest stream water showed a double exponential decline trend, also the suspended sediment occupied 97% or more of the total discharge in the 137Cs flux.2. It is clarified that the temporal change of the suspended - dissolved partition coefficient of 137Cs in the Abukuma River has a great relation with land use.3. It is shown that more than 90% of the 137Cs transported to the river as suspended sediment were transported to the sea without sedimentation in the river. A method to simulate the migration of suspended sediment in the coastal area by using the discharge from the river as input has established.
