Outline of Final Research Achievements |
Large amounts of radioactive nuclides were released into the environment by the accident of FDNPP. Many researchers reported radioactivities in the environment and distribution of radioactive nuclides was investigated. However, trace nuclides such as Sr-90 and Pu isotopes have been very limited. Detail reactor circumstance (such as fuel temperature) and chemical forms of released nuclides can be investigated from these elements. In this work, we successfully developed a new rapid analysis methods for these nuclides and investigated distribution and time change of these nuclides for aerosol, seawater and soil samples. We also investigated absorption process of these nuclides for aerosols using aerosol generation system connected fission product generation chamber. From these studies, we discussed the detail reactor circumstance in the initial stage of the accident.
