Outline of Annual Research Achievements

本A03(ケ)班では、表面金属ナノクラスター触媒や固定化金属錯体(表面金属錯体触媒)を用いた環境浄化及びグリーン有機合成反応をターゲットとし、単結晶モデル表面を用いた精密ナノ構造解析による活性ナノ構造の原子レベル評価と実触媒の開発を並行して行っている。
本年度はまず、表面金属ナノクラスター触媒(担持金属触媒)において、金属ナノ粒子/酸化物界面に形成される特殊なナノ構造が触媒特性に与える影響を調べた。白金ナノ粒子を担持した二酸化チタン単結晶モデル触媒表面において、メタノール分解反応前後のSTM観察から、二酸化チタン上に一様に分布した中間体のメトキシが、高温で界面に移動して反応することを示唆する結果を得た。しかし、活性な界面ナノ構造の詳細を得るには反応中でのその場観察が不可欠で、来年度実施する。また、実触媒においては、近年、微細藻類由来の脂肪酸類の水素化によってディーゼル燃料を製造する試みが注目されているが、本班では担持金属触媒によるドデカン酸還元を検討した結果,酸化ニオブに白金を担持した触媒が最も高収率でドデカンを生成することを見いだした。さらにバイオマスや二酸化炭素からの化学品合成に有効な様々な新規担持金属触媒を開発するとともに、金属・担体・触媒調製条件と触媒性能の関係を網羅的にデータベース化し、機械学習による新規活性触媒開発のための準備を行った。
また固定化金属錯体触媒に関しても、単結晶モデル表面と実触媒の両方に関して、ナノ構造解析と活性評価を行うことで、触媒ナノ構造情報の蓄積を行った。

Reason

単結晶モデル表面、実触媒ともにナノ構造解析と触媒反応特性の解明が進んでおり、ナノ構造と活性の相関(触媒ナノ構造情報)の蓄積が順調に進んでいる。特に、実触媒に関しては、バイオマスや二酸化炭素からの化学品合成に有効な様々な新規担持金属触媒を開発するため、金属と担体の組み合わせによる触媒性能の変化を網羅的に調べ、データベース化した。これをもとに、公募班と連携して機械学習による新規活性触媒予測のための準備を開始した。

Strategy for Future Research Activity

表面金属ナノクラスター触媒に関しては、引き続き、金属ナノ粒子/酸化物界面に形成される特殊なナノ構造(金属/酸化物相互作用)に着目し、触媒特性との相関を明らかにしていく。単結晶モデル表面を用いた研究では、界面ナノ構造と反応中の吸着種の動きを直接とらえ、原子レベルで活性と構造の相関を明らかにする。まずは白金ナノ粒子を担持した二酸化チタン単結晶モデル触媒表面において、メタノール分解反応中のSTM直接観察を試みる。実触媒に関してはアミドやスルホキシド等の難還元性有機化合物を水素分子により還元し,有用化合物に変換する触媒反応に対して,既存の有機金属触媒を上回る性能を有する触媒を開発する。単結晶モデル表面と実触媒で得られた知見をうまく統合し、より高性能な触媒開発へとつなげる。様々な金属と酸化物担体の組み合わせで得られた触媒性能のデータベースをもとにし、機械学習による活性予測を検討していく。
表面金属錯体触媒に関しては、単結晶表面に担持した各種金属錯体(銅、金、ニッケル)を用いた触媒反応の開発を昨年度に引き続き実施する。触媒機能が得られた反応系に関しては、担体や錯体のどの構造的特徴が触媒機能を支配するのかを見出すための各種触媒の作製、ナノ構造解析、触媒性能の取得を系統的に行う。
