Outline of Final Research Achievements

We found that nuclear transport factor and the component of nuclear pore complex (nucleoporin) interact with chromatin to regulate the expression of genes involved in cell differentiation or proliferation. Further, our research demonstrated the significance of the interaction between chromatin and importin α1, a nuclear transport factor that is highly expressed in cancer cells, or leukemogenic nucleoporin fusion protein, Nup98HoxA9, for the development of the diseases.
