Outline of Annual Research Achievements

前年度に引き続き、多様なπ電子系の本質的電荷輸送特性をマイクロ波をプローブとして非接触的に計測する手法の開発と、それらを用いた新規材料評価を推進した。本年度の実施事項は以下のとおりである。1) 測定対象に化学的手法によって電荷ドーピングおこないつつ、マイクロ波による電気伝導度測定とESRによるキャリア数定量をin-situでおこなう新たな電荷移動度評価法、Chemical-Dope (CD) TRMC法の開発を引き続き推進した。前年度における原理実証の成功を受け、本年度は実用のための装置最適化をおこなった。具体的には、化学酸化剤であるヨウ素蒸気の流速制御機構を導入し、ドーピング速度のコントロールが可能となった。さらに、光ファイバー式のスペクトル分光計と組み合わせることで、ドーピング中におけるCD-TRMCと紫外可視吸収スペクトルの同時分光が可能となった。最適化された測定システムを用いることで、代表的な導電性高分子であるP3HTに対する正孔ドーピング時のキャリア伝導およびスピン数のリアルタイムモニタリングに成功した。その結果、ドーピング開始初期段階において、ESR信号強度は増大するが、伝導度は変化しない時間領域が存在することが明らかになった。これは、ドーピング初期において発生するポーラロンの移動度が低いことを示唆している。さらにドーピングが進行すると、ESR強度は低下しはじめ、それに伴って伝導度が増大する。この結果は、P3HT中の主なキャリア担体はスピンを持たないポーラロンペアもしくはバイポーラロンであることを示唆する結果である。2)サンプル界面への電界印加によるキャリア注入によって電荷の二次元運動を観測する手法(FI-TRMC法)を用いた材料評価をおこなった。特筆すべき結果として、本手法によって一般に不安定である電子ドープされた有機材料の大気下での移動度測定に成功した。

Reason

前年度に開発をスタートしたCD-TRMC法の測定装置の試作機が完成した。これを用いて、ドーピング段階ごとのP3HTのキャリアの微視的な情報を得ることに成功した。これは二種類の非接触マイクロ波分光を複合した本手法ならでは成果であり、本手法の計測装置としての独自性と有効性を実証する結果であるといえる。さらにここで得られた知見は、未だ統一的な見解のない導電性高分子内の伝導機構の解明に繋がるものであり、学術的にも重要であると考える。さらに、開発済のFPおよびFI-TRMCを用いて多くの物質の電荷輸送特性の解明をおこない、多数の論文として発表した。上記理由により、本年度の進歩は当初計画以上であると考える。

Strategy for Future Research Activity

次年度は、CD-TRMC法の適用範囲を広げ、現在用いているP3HT以外を対象とした測定をおこなう。特に、ドーピング剤の選択およびドープ法を検討することで、多様な材料群に適用できる汎用的な測定法として確立することを目指す。また、FI-TRMC法において、共振周波数変調によって試料中に存在するキャリアトラップの情報を得る手法の開発を目指す。
