Outline of Annual Research Achievements

当該年度は,時間,空間(スケール),モダリティの各軸について計算解剖モデルを拡張したが,主な成果は以下のとおりである.
1.時間軸:胚子については,多層の入れ子状の解剖構造のための新しい統計モデルを提案した.極座標変換とLOG変換に基づく二つの方法を提案し,その優劣も含めて性能を評価した.また,途中の時刻で解剖学的ランドマーク点が新しく発生した場合にも対応できる方法を提案した.入れ子や発生を扱う方法論はこれまで皆無であり,いずれも時空間モデルの構築には大きく貢献をした.小児については,カーネル回帰の枠組みを利用して,時間軸に沿って主成分が滑らかに変化する新しいモデル化法を提案した.死後についても引き続きモデル構築の検討を進めた.
2.空間(スケール)軸とモダリティ軸:マルチスケールとマルチモダリティの計算解剖モデルに関する研究を行った.具体的には,辞書ベースと深層学習ベースの二つの方法を用い,死後の胸部の画像を対象に,超解像のためのアルゴリズムと,モダリティ変換のためのアルゴリズムを提案した.前者の超解像では,ResNetを学習させ最大で8倍の超解像を行ない,辞書ベースの方法と比較をした.また,後者のモダリティ変換も,辞書ベースと深層学習ベースの二つの方法を提案し,両者の比較も行った.
3.応用:胚子においてカーネギーステージの推定は重要な応用である.その精度を上げるために,カーネギーステージごとに軸数を任意に設定できるように拡張した.その結果,推定精度が向上することを確認した.

Reason

研究実績において述べた通り,多元計算解剖モデルの構築は予定通りに進んでいる.また,応用についても当初の予定通り順調に進んでいる.

Strategy for Future Research Activity

次年度も計画通りの研究を進める.時間軸については,解剖学的ランドマークの発生だけでなく,消滅などにも対応できるように拡張したり,点や面などが同時に存在する場合のモデル化法についても検討を進める予定である.その他の研究についても,特に解剖学的な妥当性の実現に着目したモデル化法の研究・開発を進める.
