Research Abstract

カナダトライアンフ研究所に東大中間子科学センタ-が日加協力により建設した低速大強度負ミュオンチャネルを主として用いたミュオンによる物性実験が行われた。中心的課題としては、高温超伝導物質の負ミュオンによる高温超伝導機構の解明の試みがあげられる。全エンドのLaSrCuO系の高温超伝導中の2つの異なる酸素位置からの負ミュオン信号の発見に引き続きその常磁性シフトや緩和率の温度依存性、結晶軸依存性、不純物濃度依存性が精力的に進められている。またより高い超伝導転移温度を示すYBaCuO系についても酸素位置の負ミュオン信号を観測する試みがなされ反強磁性を示す酸素濃度において高温では酸素位置の負ミュオン神郷が観測できた。さらに磁性参加物中の酸素位置の負ミュオン信号の一般的理解のために3d元素を主とした酸化物について系統的な研究が行われた。
また日本のパルス的ミュオン施設と相補的な直流状大強度の正ミュオンを用いた物性実験も行われた。特にトライアムフ研究所の超伝導ソレノイドチャネルにおいてカナダや日本で初めて試料を高圧力においた条件下でのミュオン実験に成功した。
低速ミュオンと薄膜の相互作用の研究においては、μ^+、μ^ーによる薄膜からの2次電子放出数分布を系統的に測定した。特に、ミュオンの運動量を5Mev/cまで下げることに成功し、2次電子放出"荷電費対象効果"[{n(μ^+)ーn(μ^ー)}]として、7%を得た。
CERNにおいてヘリウムガス中で汎用誌の消滅実験が行われ、約3%の反陽子が異常に長寿命を保っていることが明らかになった。
