Research Abstract	本年度は総研の最終年にあたるので、研究の論点を限定し、レビュ-と総合討論を中心に行った。レビュ-の題目は次の通りである。1.色覚に関与する光受容蛋白質の一次構造からみた視覚進化系統樹。2.FTIRの原理と応用。3.分子内光誘起電子移動のピコ秒・フェムト秒ダイナミクス。4.蛋白質内電子移動のPathーKuki.Wolynessのモンテカルロシミュレ-ション及びBerratanの理論の紹介。5.熱測定で観たタンパク質熱力学。6.光吸収スペクトルのフ-リエ変換法による励起状態ダイナミクスの解析。これらの講演から、膜蛋白質の研究の現状と今後の可能性について討論が重ねられ、3年間の班員の研究討論を通して、生物・化学・物理にわたる研究者間に共通の問題意識がかなりの程度定着してきたことが明らかになった。総合討論では本研究班の成果のsurveyが行われた。1.膜蛋白質の特質。globular Proteinと対比して研究を進めた。helixの折れたたみ構造の安定性と機能における役割を明らかにした。解離アミノ酸残基の熱力学的安定性と反応性について考察を深めた。2.エナジェティクス。蛋白構造緩和を制御する因子としてエナジェティクスをとらえた。高効率エネルギ-変換及び特異的反応機構をエネジェティクスの観点から考察した。3.ダイナミクス。レチナ-ル蛋白質の光異性化のダイナミクスについてフェムト秒・ピコ秒分光の応用及びフ-リエ変換法の適用。膜蛋白質の構造変化における環境ゆらぎとダイナミクスの役割。これらの議論をもとに生命体の素材となる蛋白質の構造と動的機能ーそれにかかわるエナジェティクスとダイナミクスの物理化学的研究がその基礎として今後もますます重要であることの認識を深めた。
