Research Abstract	動的機構における対称性の自発的破れの問題は、場の量子論における普遍的なテ-マであり、本質的に非摂動的取扱いを必要とするものである。本研究計画では、ゲ-ジ場の理論、超弦理論、共形場の理論等における動的対称性の破れの機構を、理論的に解明することをめざしている。本年度は先ず 1.くり込み群、有効ポテンシャル、積分方程式など解析的方法による定式化を検討するグル-プ 2.格子ゲ-ジ模型を用いた計算機シミュレ-ションの方法による数値的解析を行うグル-プに分れて研究討論をくりかえし、研究計画の推進を計った。勿論、上記二つのグル-プの間の情報交換にも注意を払った。これらグル-プによって得られた結果は、部分的には、 1.電弱理論のヒッグス機構の動的模型による説明 2.共形場の理論の臨界点外での振舞いの研究 3.強結合量子電気力学の相構造の研究 4.有限温度での場の理論の相構造の研究などに応用され、世界的にも評価される成果を上げている。特に、上記1.の研究テ-マを中心として、平成元年12月に、京都に滞在中の南部陽一郎氏(シカゴ大)を招いて、名古屋大学でワ-クショップを開き、有益な研究討論ができた。このワ-クショップの報告書は別途発行される予定である。このように、特に重要と考えられるテ-マについて重点的に討論する機会を持つことは大切であると思われる。その他、年二回の物理学会の際には、それぞれのテ-マに従って会合を持った。
