Research Abstract	太陽から中間圏にわたる全領域を1つのシステムとして捉え、相互関係を明らかにする観測研究(太陽地球系エネルギ-プログラム:STEP研究)を実施するにあたり、本研究は、現在進行中の研究で緊急性を要するものを完成させ、各々の領域にある問題点を整理し、その解決の手法を明らかにする事を目的として進められている。この研究は5つの課題に分けられ(i)太陽フレア-の発生機構にかかわる問題,(ii)惑星間空間の巨大振幅電磁流体波動にかかわる問題、(iii)磁気圏境界域とTail領域のプラズマの流れの不安定現象にか変わる問題、(iv)オ-ロラ現象を含む電離圏、磁気圏の結合過程に関わる問題及び、(v)比較惑星磁気圏的に捉える木星磁気圏の問題、についてこれまでの観測と理論の整理検討行い、問題の解決方策を明らかにしていく。本年度は前年度にひきつづいて、(1)各課題での研究作業を重点的に進めるとともに、(2)来るべき太陽地球系エネルギ-国際協同研究(STEP)にわが国が行う研究の具体的検討を行う研究集会の開催、及び(3)研究体制準備打ち合せが行われた。 (1)各課題の研究:5つの領域で、前年度の研究の上にたってこれまで太陽地球系科学で進められてきた観測結果のとりまとめと理論の整理検討を行い、STEP研究において解決すべき問題とその方法を明らかにした。 (2)研究集会:(a)第1回STEPシンポジュウムを開催し(平成2年4月、極地研究所)、太陽地球系エネルギ-プログラムにおけるわが国の研究課題の検討とその実施方法を具体的に策定した。このシンポジウムの内容は第1回STEPシンポジウム報告書として印刷され広くSTEP研究参加者に配布された。(b)太陽地球系エネルギ-問題にかかわる観測・理論デ-タが有機的に結合するために必要なデ-タベ-ス、ネットワ-クについての研究会を開催し具体的方策を検討した。 (3)研究体制準備打ち合せ:各研究領域の研究結果をふまえ、その基礎の上に立って来るべきSTEP計画の総括及び具体的実施計画が練られた。これらは、次年度にひきつがれ、最終的な総括的実施計画を完成していく。
