Research Abstract |
1. Study about character of radar clutter and the method of clutter rejection. The authors studied about the method of clutter reduction, which is the base of radar signal processing for target recognition. 2. Study about recognition of target shape using a radar. The authors obtained data of many target. Main targets are ship's and sea ice. On signal processing about radar reflection signal from ships, method used until now was improved. Consequently, estimation of ship gross tonnage became to be possible more accurately. Furthermore, they obtained good results about detection of ship's aspect angle. And they knew ship's aspect angle had effect on radar reflection signal. They obtained many information about recognition of shape. And availability of filter using knowledge and experience is researched. 3. Atmospheric boundary layer measurements were sea ice in the sea of Okhotsk using a radar. The authors measured area and movement of sea ice using a radar. They obtained good results about heat movement between atmosphere and sea with formation of sea ice in Okhotsk sea. 4. Method of accurate positioning of a radar observation car The authors studied about method of positioning of a car which need to observe a target from several direction using a radar. They actually measured position of a car with method of position of a car using a optical instrument, transponder, dead reckoning system and GPS system. In the case of good condition, all method can measure position with good accuracy.
