Research Abstract |
The research has been devoted on (1) Measurement and analysis of electric and magnetic field in power frequency ; (2) Method of evaluation of ion flow and low-frequency magnetic field in an organism ; (3) Measurement and analysis of wide-band electromagnetic field. Regarding the fields of power frequency, factors influencing the accuracy of a conventional electric field meter are analyzed. A new 3-dimensional magnetic-field sensor employing a hole device is developed, and magnetic-field environment in a living room is investigated. Computer codes for the analysis of 3-D magnetic field in air have also been developed, and magnetic fields around a power station or a transmission line are evaluated. These are fundamentals in the research of the impact of power-frequency fields on the environment. Low-frequency intense magnetic field or ion flow need to be evaluated in the aspect of environmental influence, as the social system develops. Analyzing methods have been developed, and physical and biological phenomena under intense magnetic field are experimentally investigated, showing the importance of the subject to be investigated further. In regard to induction or interference to various systems, measurement and evaluation of wide-band electromagnetic field are studied. Artificial electromagnetic noise such as in the vicinity of a power, station and natural noise from lightning discharges have been measured by wide-band recording devices. A new electro-optic electric field measuring device incorporating a Pockets' cell and interferometric technique is developed. Wide-band electromagnetic noise of up to GHz generated by a discharge of a small gap is investigated in relation to the phase of the discharge phenomena. In the theoretical aspect, the mechanism of induction of voltage on a distribution line or a communication line by wide-band electromagnetic field is clarified.
