| Research Abstract |
本年度が本研究の初年度(平成2年度まで継続の予定)であり,主要な研究実績は以下のとおりである。
1.本研究においては,オセアニア地域の諸集団の形質にみられる多様性を,主として生態学的な視点から(たとえば形態学的特性と栄養特性との関連性)分析することに主眼があり,そのために広範な既存文献の整理・分析が重要な部分を占める。当初の予定より多い1000以上の文献を収集し,代表者及び各分担者が担当する研究事項(複数の研究者が共同する場合もある)を具体的に確定した。すなわち,本研究課題の内容を15のテ-マに分け,基本的な分析を行うこととした。
2.各研究者が分担する上記の15のテ-マについて分析を開始し,とくに分析の視点及び仮設について代表者及び分担者の間で議論し,基本的な枠組みについて合意に達した。なお,各テ-マごとに得られる仮設の相互関連性(来年度の主要なテ-マである)についても,議論を開始している。
3.各テ-マに共通する基本的な視点として,当初から想定していた生物学的な人類集団の区分(オ-ストロネシアンと非オ-ストロネシアン)及び気温・雨量・動植物相などの環境要因だけでなく,広義の近代化の影響も重要な分析課題であることが明らかとなった。
4.文献で扱われている諸集団の研究成果を要約するインデックス集の作成も本研究の目的の1つであるが,各集団の地域名,身体諸特性,生態学的諸特性等についてコ-ド化を行うなど,インデックス集の基本システムを完成し,パソコンへの入力をほぼ完了した。
