Research Abstract	1)複合糖質糖鎖の微量構造分析法の開発稲垣は様々な糖脂質に対するNMRのデ-タを蓄積し、又新しくralayed HOHAHAという技術を開発した。遠藤はプロテオグリカンの糖鎖の根元附近を切断する3種のエンドグリコシダ-ゼを、又堀田はムチン糖類のタンパク質との結合部位を水解する酸素を発見して部分精製した。山科は糖鎖と反応するモノクロ-ン抗体を作成し、又山下は各種レクチンを不溶化したカラムの糖結合性を詳細に調べて、糖類の構造解析に有効に使われることを示した。これらの酵素や糖鎖結合タンパク質は本研究の遂行上きわめて有力な手段となろう。 2)鎖鎖の合成法の確立小川はこれまでほとんど手のつけられていなかったbisecting GlcNAcと根元にフコ-スを持つ複合型Asn結合糖鎖群の化学合成法を確立した。鈴木はマウスのGM4,GM1ならびにGM2などの糖脂質の発現に関与する遺伝子群を同定し、それぞれGs1-4、Gs1-7,Ggm-2と名付けた。又,牧田はブタのA型並びにH型抗原糖脂質の生合成機構を明らかにした。これらの遺伝子の産物は今後糖類の酵素合成に有用となろう。 3)複合糖質糖鎖の機能研究糖タンパク質領域ではマウス線維芽細胞の増殖と悪性化に関与する糖鎖の解析(井上)、リソソ-ム膜糖タンパク質の特徴(加藤)、細胞接着因子ビトロネクチンの糖鎖の解析(瀬野)などが進展した。細胞表面認識に関しては、表面レセプタ-としてのガラクト-ス転移酵素の局在(村松)、エリスロポエチンの生理活性発現における糖鎖構造の重要性(木幡)などが示された。又糖脂質領域では神経の発生に伴う糖鎖パタ-ンの変動(平林)、神経突起形成へのGQ1bの作用機構の解明(永井)などが著明な成果を挙げた。
