Research Abstract

近年、科学技術はめざましい発展をとげており、物質に関する情報を生み出す計測科学と物質の分離科学の発達は、それを支える基礎技術として多大の貢献をしてきた。21世紀をめざす先端技術の分野では、物質情報の計測において、識別と分離の技術に格段の進歩が求められている。これらの創造を目指す研究は、先導的基礎的研究として高い価値を有するばかりでなく、先端科学領域の進展に対して広範な新しいアプロ-チを可能とするものであり、学術的、社会的要請の強い研究分野として重点的に推進する必要があることはいうまでもない。わが国では、分子認識と精密分離を志向した基礎研究が盛んであり、個々には国際的にも第一級のレベルを有している。この背景を生かし、社会的ニ-ズの強い物質情報計測の視点から、研究者間の討論と研鑽の場を持つことが強く望まれている。本研究は、分子認識に関する第一線の研究者を中心とし、これに分離科学を専門とする研究者を加えた組織をつくり、この領域の基礎研究の進展と体系化を図る準備のための場を持つことを目的とした。また、その結果を踏まえ将来重点研究領域として発展させ、この分野の研究に大きく寄与することを目標とした。
本研究では、1)イオンの分子認識と精密分離、2)非イオン性化学種の分子認識と精密分離、3)生体関連物質の分子認識と精密分離、4)化学計測における情報変換と分子認識、5)分離科学における理論と新しい方法の5研究項目を設定し、各研究者間の緊密な研究連絡を行なうとともに、本研究分野の将来に向けての展望を模索した。すなわち、各研究者の研究成果を踏まえた活発な討論により、次年度以降重点研究領域としての充実、発展を期すため重点とする研究項目の設定および分担、研究体制の確立等を中心に具体的内容について討議を進め、吟味を重ねて研究計画のアウトラインを策定した。
