Research Abstract |
Recent political and socio-economic transformations all over the European countries have shown us one of the most profound questions originated in the formation of the modern "European World" : the concept of "nation-state". Integration into the European Community, on the one hand, movements for self-determination and independence and ethnic conflicts, on the other hand, besides the waves of immigrants and foreign workers, make us reconsider the meanings of the borders that have divided one "nation-state" from another. In another wards, one "nation-state" can be consisted of various "ethnos", or ethnic groups, and this fact is indispensable to understand the contemporary situation there. Last three years, we have been tackling this subject in terms of methodology and area studies.
