| Research Abstract |
平成元年6月ー8月に高橋と安藤は北大練習船おしょろ丸に乗船し、北部北太平洋及びアラスカ湾で刺網による資料採集を行った後、アラスカ州ジュノ-に赴き、近効の河川で遡上魚の採集を行った。同時に、次年度の採集のための予備調査を併せて行った。採集された資料は日本に持ち帰られ、現在各分担者が鋭意分析中であるが、これまでの分析結果の概要は以下の通りであった。
卵巣卵に取り込まれ、卵巣の発達(卵黄形成)を促しているベニサケの血中卵黄蛋白前駆物質(ビテロゲニン)は北部北太平洋、アラスカ湾と産卵回遊が進むにつれてその量を増大した。これと平行して、卵巣卵発達に関与している性ステロイドも同様に漸増した。興味深いことに、産卵回遊の開始直前に甲状腺ホルモンが一過性のピ-クを示した。この現象は同様に他のサケ科魚類(サクラマス、アマゴ、ギンザケ)稚魚の降海期に甲状腺ホルモンが一過性のサ-ジを示したが、現在我々はこのサ-ジが母川記銘と何らかの関係があると考えている。従って、この甲状腺ホルモンが母川に回帰する産卵回遊の開始と関係があるのか否か、充分に検討する必要があろう。一方、索餌回遊期から産卵回遊期にかけてベニサケでは筋肉と肝臓のタンパク質の分解のみならず、合成能の変化も著しく大きかった。産卵回遊時のベニサケの筋肉中では脂質とカロテノイド含量が著しく高リンとも分った。シロサケではカロテノイド色素の輸送に関与するリポタンパク質が河川遡上時に初めて認められたのに対し、ベニサケでは北洋の索餌回遊期に既に認められ、これらのことは比較生化学的に極めて興味深い。今後更に詳細に解析し、上述のホルモンの挙動や鱗及び鰓蓋骨の硬組織が関与するカルシウム代識とも併せて総合的に解析を進めたいと考えている。
