| Research Abstract |
LaーCe、SmーNd放射壊変系及び希土類元素パタ-ンをもとにして、地殻の進化を解明することが、本研究の主要な目的である。主な成果は次の通りである。
1.原始地殻の発展を明らかにするために、昨年度までは主としてグリ-ンランドの始生代の岩石について研究を進めてきた。今年度は、この研究をさらに進め、オ-ストラリア、カナダ、韓国、中国の始生代又は原生代の岩石についての研究を開発し、原始地殻の地域的不均一性等の検討を行った。カナダ盾状地の先カンブリア紀の花崗岩について、同じスペリオル区の花崗岩でも、起源物質がコンドライト的な場合と、軽希士類元素に富んだ大陸地殻的特徴を示す場合があることが明らかになった。アジア大陸東部については、中国東北部遼寧省の岩石のSmーNd年代は31億年であり、その周辺の岩石の年代は順次若くなっていることを示した。これは、アジア大陸東部は中国東北部を核として、成長したことを示すデ-タである。
2.中国大陸の新生代アルカリ玄武岩についての同位体比、微量元素存在度の研究の結果、中国大陸下の上部マントルが長い期間にわたり、かなり不均質であったことが明確となった。そして、この地域的不均質性は中国大陸のテクトニクスと密接な関連があることを指摘した。
3.チャ-トのCe、Nd同位体比がチャ-トの堆積環境の指標となることを明らかにした。
4.太平洋、大西洋などのマンガン団塊についてCe、Nd同位体比による研究を行なった。Nd同位体比は、太平洋、大西洋の試料ともに大陸地殻的な特徴を示した。しかし、Ce同位体比では、大西洋の試料は大陸地殻的特徴を示したのに対して、太平洋の試料はマントル的な特徴を示し、両者のCeの供給源に差のある可能性を示唆する結果が得られた。
