Research Abstract	昭和63年度にひき続き大きく2つの研究方向で研究を行った。その第1は、ショウジョウバエの分子生物学および細胞工学技術の改良と新しい技術発展をはかる研究である。東大をセンターとし、ショウジョウバエおよびそのDNAの供給体制の整備、ショウジョウバエ固有な技術などを自由に利用できるようにした。とくにエンハンサートラップ法やPCR法の導入、共焦点レーザー顕微鏡の導入を行い班員が最先端の技術を駆使できるように整備をした。既に研究成果のあがっている視覚系情報変換機構の遺伝子解析を発展させ、フォスフォリパーゼCおよびジグリセリドキナーゼの精製を行った(堀田、井上、鈴木)。また、複眼形成過程の分化制御遺伝子(西郷、堀田)、筋蛋白突然変異の解析(堀田、最上、香川)、トランスポゾンの転移機構の解析やエンハンサートラップ法やP因子挿入突然変異法による組織特異的発現遺伝子の同定(堀田、谷村、三宅)、細胞培養系を用いた細胞分化の解析(三宅、堀田)、細胞接着分子抗体の同定(竹市)などの研究を協同して行った。また、性決定遺伝子とSROとの相互作用(小穴)およびがん遺伝子rafの機能が胚の前後軸の形成過程に重要な役割を果たすことの発見(西田)は世界的に大きく発展しているこの種の研究に新局面を開き大きな影響を与えるものとして注目される。第2の方向は、これまでに大きく発展したショウジョウバエの分子生物学的技術を他の実験系の応用することである。特に、ホメオボックスを持つ各種の遺伝子を同定しその発現パターンを明らかにする研究が蚕(鈴木)、ショウジョウバエ(西郷)、ニワトリ(黒岩)等を材料として大きく進展した。さらに他の実験系にショウジョウバエ技術を応用するための基礎実験を、イオンチャンネルの遺伝子(田辺、堀田)、細胞内骨格系の分子生物学(広川)、細胞接着因子(竹市)などについて行った。
