Research Abstract

実験動物委員会は我が国の癌研究に使用される実験動物の質的向上を目指し実験用系統の維持と開発,特性検査と品質管理,高品質の実験動物株の分与,胚及び配偶子の凍結保存,DNAレベルでの遺伝子マッピング,系統情報の提供など実験動物及び動物実験に関する基盤の整備及びサ-ビス的活動を通じて癌研究の推進に寄与することを目的としている。本年度は次のような活動を行った。(1)実験動物の基準系統の育成,維持,供給。(a)近交系マウス:5人の分担者が各種の近交系マウスを維持し癌研究者に株を分与した。その数は76施設273系統1127匹に達した。(b)近交系ラット:2人の分担者が各種の近交系ラットを維持し15施設8系統1165匹を分与した。(c)近交系モルモット・ハムスタ-:14系統のモルモットを維持し,2系統を2施設に分与した。またこれらの系統の標識遺伝子の設定を進めている。ハムスタ-近交系についても2施設に分与を行った。以上のマウス・ラット・ハムスタ-等については遺伝学的な特性検査とモニタリングのサ-ビスも行った。(2)コンジェニック,リコンビナント・インブレッド(RI)及び突然変異マウス系統の育成,維持,供給:(a)コンジェニック系マウス26系を維持し26施設に110系408匹を分与した。(b)RI系28系を10施設に分与した。(3)品質管理と技術の開発:(a)遺伝的検査:マウス29座位,ラット25座位を対象に33施設245系統1263匹の検査を行った。(b)微生物的検査:11感染因子の検査法を確立し10施設から43件805検体の依頼を受けた。(4)新しいRI系統の開発,育成:腫瘍高発系Aと低発系SM/Jとの間で28系のRI系統の育成を進めており,すでにF20を越え標識遺伝子座の分析をはじめた。(5)胚および配偶子の凍結保存:本年度凍結された胚は120000匹に達した。(6)DNAによるマウス遺伝子マッピングの研究をはじめた。(7)実験動物系統情報の配布を行った。
