Research Abstract |
The sedimentation and burying phenomena of the weights placed on the deposited grain beds, which simulated the ground pressure of the human foot, and the flow pattern in the discharge of the deposited grain beds were clarified qualitatively using the model silo which was reduced to a scale of one-fifteenth the natural silo of the country elevator. The sedimentation and burying phenomena of the weight and the flow pattern were first observed by-using a video camera. Then, the sedimentation displacement of the weight and the displacement of the tracer in the discharge were numerized with the video image data. As a result of this test, the effect of the cone angle and the flow rate of hoppers on the sedimentation and burying phenomena of the weight and the flow pattern were cleared.
