Research Abstract |
The purpose of this project is to reduce in vibration and acoustic noise of ac three-phase induction motors due to unbalanced magnetic pull by controlling inverter output currents. The results obtained are as follows : (1)An experimental motor control setup was developed. New power devices, IGBTs, were used for the power convereters. We confirmed that the setup worked successfully for our experimental purpose, but could not carry out motor drive tests due to the time limit. We are planning to continue the study using the newly developed experimental setup. A multilevel-voltage source rectifier having a three-phase diode bridge circuit as a main power circuit was also developed for the experimental setup. The rectifier has a feature of very low distorted input current waveforms. (2)The current components injected for reducing unbalanced magnetic pull caused unexpectedly large adverse effects on torque pulsation. We expect that two inverter system may solve this problem, then we will continue this project to obtain further advances.
