Research Abstract |
In this study, we propose a new computation model, called 'message-flow' model, for MIMD-type massively parallel computer architectures. The message-flow model is derived from such two computation models as a 'parallel object-oriented model' and a 'macro data flow model'. The message-flow model is constructed based on the design philosophy that the message-flows in a parallel object-oriented model can be assimilated to a dataflow in the macro dataflow model. The message-flow model has the following characteristics : (i)architecture oriented model ; (ii)universal adaptability to several MIMD-type machines ; (iii)high feasibility in a wide range of application fields(iv)powerful capability to extract implicit and massive parallelism.
