The status of spermatogenesis comparing, , with kidney and the biochemical study on testicular tissue in Snell dwarf, little and congenitally hypothyroid mice was studied. 1. In all of these mice with a hormondeficiency the testicular weight were smaller, the seminiferous tubules were smaller in size and the total number. of sperm-generating cells, which consist of spermatogonia, spermatocytes, spermatids and sperms, showed remarkable decreases, compared with each control group, and the decrease in total cell number was improved favorably by treatment with hormone. In comparison with the control groups, significant decreases were showed in the spermatid number for the dw/dw group, sperm number for the lit/lit group, and spermatid and sperm numbers for the hyt/hyt group. 2. On the other hand, the weight of kidney, the depth of renal cortex and medulla showed remarkable decreases, compared with each control group, and the decrease of the weight of kidney and the depth of renal cortex and medulla were improved favorably by treatment with hormone. But the number of glomeruli in mm^2 showed remarkable increases, compared with each control group, and the increases of them were improved by such replacement therapy. These results indicate that GH and T_4 have a potential effect on sperm-generating function and renal structure. 3. In comparison with the control groups, significant decreases were showed in total DNA content, total RNA content and RNA/DNA ratio for the dw/dw group and the hyt/hyt group. But the protein, DNA and RNA contents in G-wet-weight were not significant different for these groups. The poliamine contents (total of putrecine, spermine and cadavarine content) showed significant increases for the dw/dw group and hyt/hyt group.
