Research Abstract

本研究班の課題は、随意運動の計画・準備・実行・調節に関する神経機構を計算論的アプロ-チと実験的アプロ-チを統合して明らかにすることである。運動の発現は、外界からの感覚情報、体内情報またはすでに脳に蓄えられている記憶情報に促されるが、これらの情報は、運動の開始だけでなく、運動の目標の設定、手順や動作の種類の選択、運動の時空間的構成において必要とされる。本研究では、対象を視覚的に認知し、手で操作するという状況を設定して、実験的には眼球運動と手の運動をとりあげ、上記の情報変換が脳のどの部位で行われているかを調べ、そこでの情報変換の様式を計算論的に考察した。すなわち、眼球(笠井)および手(鈴木)の運動特性を行動学的に調べるとともに、随意運動に関係深い脳の部位、すなわち、運動野、運動前野、補足運動野(丹治)、前頭連合野(佐々木)、大脳基底核(大脳基底核)、小脳、視床(篠田)などで神経活動を記録し、自然に近いさまざまな運動課題との関連を分析し、それぞれの部位の役割を推定した。また、計算論的には運動目標の最適な計画と運動学習(鈴木、吉沢)に絞って検討した。
以上の通り、実験的研究の現状は、物体の認識、動作への変換、運動の出力という一連の過程に関与する脳の部位の役割分担が明らかになり始めたという段階にある。一方、計算論的研究では、逆ダイナミクス、逆キネマティクスの学習と最適制御のニュ-ラルネットワ-クが提案され、さらに、運動情報のニュ-ラルネットによる表現と情報変換に関する研究が始められている。今後は、実験的研究が明らかにした上記部位の役割分担に対応したモデル化を進め、実験的研究の方向を示唆することが課題となる。
