Research Abstract |
1. Charge-transfer spectra of permethylated polygermanes-tetra-cyanoethylene (TCNE) complexes were observed. The frequency of charge-transfer spectra was linearly related to ionization potentials (or chemical oxidation potentials) of the polygermanes. Polygermanes inserted into TCNE to afford 1:1 adducts under mild conditions. 2. In the pulse radiolytic method two types of polyatomic molecules are used. For the generation of polygermyl anion radicals, tetrahydrofuran (THF) is preferred. The type of molecules used for generation of polygermyl radical cations comprises alkyl halides such as CH_2Cl_2 and CHCl_3.
