Research Abstract |
During the period of two years, a theoretical and experimental study on the laser apparatus which is able to produce simultaneous three wavelength including three primary-color was made for the purpose of a practical use. In this laser apparatus the dye mixture, made of commercial-grade dye in a Pyrex glass of flowed through it, were carefully selected to obtain suitable concentrations of each dye before experiments. Coumarin 460(C-460), Disodium Fluorescein(DF), both of Rhodamin 610 and 640,Cresyl Violet(CV), and Oxazine(LD) were used as the contents of dye mixtures, and Ethanol as the common solvent for all the dyes. A circulating system was adapted to the dye mixtures to obtain both of a long life and a stable operation. The dye mixtures were excited by an home made nitrogen laser with the output energy of 4.6mJ, the pulse width of 7ns, the total efficiency of 0.18%, and an operating wavelength of 337.1nm, or a Nd-YAG laser whose output energy, pulse width, and operating wavelength are 55mJ, 4.6ns and 355nm respectively. The light beams of these pumping lasers were focused on to the inside wall of the dye cell by a Pyrex cylindrical lens. A cavity, whose length of mainpart is -75nm, was constructed with standard broad-band dye laser mirrors. The simultaneous three primary-color laser pulses were successfully obtained by our apparatus using the three-dye mixtures such as C460/DF/CV and C460/DF/LD.
