Research Abstract |
The aim of this study is to develop a system for measuring jaw movement in six degree-of freedom using PSD sensors. 1. A equation, based on geometrical-optical relation were utilized. Based on it, measurement error was less than 0.05mm. 2. The measurement apparatus consisted of an upper PSD and lower LED supporting structures. It became low invasive and compact. 3. Measurement error was 0.099 mm on average in XY plane static motion, 0.105 mm in YZ plane, 0.075 mm in ZX plane. In dynamic motion, accuracy was similar to static motion 4. Measurement error was 0.187 mm on average in static rotation. In dynamic rotation, accuracy was similar to static rotation. We developed a system for measuring jaw movement in six degree-of freedom using PSD sensors. The system was low invasive, and it has a high measurement accuracy, that was less than 0.2mm in vitro.
