Research Abstract

「人工制御機能性分子システムの研究」の推進の基盤は、新学問分野分子機能学の創出とその具体的発展にありと捉えて初年度の研究を完了した。即ち分子システム研究を推進する各研究分野の牽引力となるべき中堅の人材を集結して研究を開始した。小研究課題5つより成り、内3グル-プは基礎概念創出とその評価、また2グル-プは具体的に機能性分子システムの誕生をめざした。特に初年度は、小研究課題を構成する研究者間での共通課題を求めず、各論的に研究を推進し、二年次での集約に備えた。これらを世界的規模で展望するため、10月に国際研究集会「機能性分子システム、その現状と将来」を開催し今後5年間の研究推進の一つの指針とした。出版についても具体化に向けて議論を開始した。
環境制御による分子システムのエネルギ-・物質変換の研究では光誘起分子ダイナミックスの分子環境依存性を研究して分子機能制御のため、超高速光誘起電子移動反応を様々な分子環境下で研究した。超臨界流体を用いた分子環境効果として「溶液中のクラスタ-構造」を理論的・実験的に検証した。磁場環境によるエネルギ-【double arrow】物質変換の制御を行うため有機化合物の光化学反応の磁場効果を研究した。
水素結合系における協力現象的なプロトン運動に基づいて生ずる新しい機能の探索を共通テ-マとして、分子間のプロトン移動と電荷移動のカップリング系:芳香族アミン・TCNQ系の光、電気、磁気物性を研究した。さらに四角酸等の有機酸強誘電体の相転移の研究、水素結合を媒介とする結晶内反応場における光構造転移の研究、分子内水素結合系(サリチリデンアニリン類)の薄膜の軟X線分光研究を行った。
光合成モデル系として、ポルフィリンーイミドーキノン系の電子移動を時間分解分光法で調べた。タンパク系としてヘモグロビンの4次構造変化を時間分解紫外共鳴ラマン法で追跡し、ボ-アプロトン脱着の効果を明らかにした。人工系として、アゾベンゼン誘導体単分子膜のフォトエレクトロクロミズムを用いる超高密度光記録系を考察すると共に、光励起された各種の半導体薄膜電極による炭酸ガスの還元反応を調べた。
光・電子機能分子の組織化と機能制御を中心に研究を展開し、数10Å周期の導電性高分子複合体の構造構築と機能制御、プラズマ重合法を用いる導電性有機薄膜材料の合成と物性、分子磁性材料としてのTDABのトリラジカルカチオン塩の合成と4重項状態の確認、分子デバイスとしての光スイッチングLB多層膜の作製並びにフォトクロミックLB膜の反応速度の定量的解析について成果が得られた。
光・電子機能分子の動的制御のための分子集合体の構築を中心に研究を展開し、多元応答フォトクロミック分子の設計と合成、光・電子機能性アモルファス分子材料の創出と、アリ-ルヒドラゾン類のガラス状態における電荷輸送特性の解明、LB膜内の光誘起電子移動による高効率電荷分離のための膜構造の分子設計、および光マイクロキャビティによる一重項励起子の閉じ込め効果、干渉効果を研究した。
